They kissed against Bella's will, and Edward threatened him that if he were to do it again without her asking him to, then he would break Jacob's jaw for her. The second time, she did it to prevent Jacob from harm against the newborns. He threatened to not try to keep himself alive during the fight with the newborn vampires.
