It is a common misconception that the Gosselins do not have contact with their relatives and extended familiess. The Gosselins do have contact with their relatives. Jon and Kate Gosselin have addressed the issue of their family during several speaking engagements and episodes of 'Jon and Kate olus 8.' Most recently, Jon spoke about their family and being on the show in an interview with KUTV while visiting Park City Utah. (See the full video under Related Links.) He mentioned that family members had various reasons for not being on camera: reluctance to be on camera, interest in protecting their privacy, and distance from the family. He speaks to his mother on the phone several times a day, and is in regular communication with his brothers... usually by text message.
