Hajj is oblgatory once in life for all Muslim men and women who fulfil certain conditions. It is a tradition established by Hazrat Abraham (Ibraheem in Arabic) as per command of Almighty Allah Karim. He built Ka'abah and announced to the people (all humans -born or yet to born). Miraculously, his voice echoed through the universe- even the heavens above. All the Souls, yet to born, who answered to the call saying: Labbaik Allah Humma Labbaik… Here I come, O my Allah, Here I present myself to you… are destined to perform Hajj. It is obligatory on each Muslim once in lifetime.
Hajj is performed during the last month of the Islamic calendar. The schedule is as under or this is how Hajj is performed in different stages: All these rituals teach unconditional obedience to Allah Almighty. They teach equality, simplicity, sacrifice, tolerance and charity etc. It was renewed by the last Prophet of Islam Hazrat Muhammad (SAW). Only the Muslim Ummah performs Hajj which is obligatory on each Muslim
Day - 1. 8th of Zilhajja: (Day of Tarwiya) Taking bath, putting on Ahraam (two sheets of untailored cloth), going to Haram i Pak, making intention of performing Hajj, offering two Nawafil and reaching the field of Mina (preferably) before Zuhar Prayer and staying there.
Day - 2. 9th. (Day of Arfaa) Offering Fajr Prayer and reaching the field of Arafaat (the main ritual of Hajj). Offering Zuhar and Asar prayers (Qasar) behind the Imam in Masjid - Namra - if possible. Staying there till sunset, offering Prayers and parying to Almighty Allah Karim. Leaving the field of Arafaat just at sunset without offering Evening Prayer. Coming to Muzdalfa at night offering Maghrib and Isha Prayers together. Staying there at night. Collecting 49 small pebbles for stoning the Jamraats.
Day - 3. 10th (Eid day) Offering Fajar Prayer and leaving Muzdalfa at sunrise. Stoning the Big Jamrah (Shaitan), offering animal sacrifice, coming to Haram i - Pak, going around the Ka'abah, performing Sayee (Walking/running betwen Safa and Marwa hills), shaving off head (for men- women cut two or three inches of their hair as a token) and putting off Ihram. Going back to Mina and staying there.
Day - 4. 11th. Stoning the three Jamraat and staying at Mina.
Day- 5. 12th Zila Hajja. Stoning the three Jaraat (Shaitans-Devils) and coming back to Makka Mukarma before sunset. That is the end of Hajj.
Day= 6: 13th Zihajja. If some one intentionally or by chance does not leave Mina before sunset of Day-5, he will stay there for the night and on the 6th day he will stone the three Jamraats and return to Makka Mukammah. This ends Hajj the Fifth Pillar of Islam.

It is better not to do so. Hajj is obligatory just once in life. Going to Mecca to perform Hajj again and again deprives some other Muslims from performing Hajj (because only so many people can fit around the Ka'aba). You may visit Mecca to perform Umra, if you like. Better spend this money to help your needy relatives, the poor and the needy.
What does the hajj teach a Muslim about their faith?
Hajj is like a mini Day of Judgment. It teaches you to be ready for the day of Judgment. It also teaches unity, equality and striving to do good deeds. Hajj is a spiritual journey and hence it touches the very core of the human soul. Spending the night in the mountains of Mina and Arafat and performing all the Hajj rituals serves are a great way to revitalize the Muslim faith and Taqwa.
Is dying on hajj considered as a privilege and why?
Natural death during Hajj is a privilege. It is because Muslims when they preform Hajj, all their sins are erased and they start a new slate just like a new-born. So if you happen to die and face god with a clean slate, that the greatest gift ever. Please note that committing suicide whether it's during Hajj or else will certainly grant you an eternity in Hell.

The black box is called the Kabah, it is in Saudia arabia in Makkah. When we muslims pray we face Kabah..(Quibla). we also got to Makkah to do hajj, it is like a pilgrimage...we go around the Kabah,this is called doing Tawaf.

Because anyone can convert to Islam and Prophet Muhammad once taught that Muslims to other Muslims are like the bricks of a building they strengthen each other and are in unity. The Muslim Ummah is like one body is one part feels pain the whole body should feel pain. The Prophet taught that there is no difference between the white-skinned and black-skinned, the Arab or non-Arab the rich or the poor except in piety.So this point is beautiful about Islam that people are different and higher in rank according to their belief in God and behavior and morality and judgment. Like when Muslims from all around the world go to Hajj they wear the same clothes and you can't tell who is rich and who is poor. They perform Hajj together no difference between the different skin colors or wealth or status. Unity is important for Muslims.

Pilgrimage is important to many people for religious reasons and your own reasons. Pilgrimage is important to religion for like Muslims. Muslims have pilgrimage in their 5 pillar of Islam which hold the religion. It is called Hajj. In Hajj, Muslims from all over the world go to the city of Mecca, a city where only Muslims can go in. Inside, Muslims go to the Ka'bah which is a black cube and circle it 7 times. For your own reasons, pilgrimage is just going to a place you haven't been for a long time like your hometown, etc. Also, pilgrimage may be going to live in a different country for a better life and if you want to visit a place you always wanted to go to.
Can a Muslim cut their hair if they are not at hajj?
Yes, the Muslims may cut their hair anytime they like. That is the personal matter of an individual. Islam is not such a narrow religion to restrict a person in petty matters of life. Cutting of hair and nails is prohibited when a Muslim wears Ahraam for Umra or Hajj. These are special occasions.
