Muslims believe that the place where the Ka'aba is located is Holy Ground. The belief in Islam is that the Ka'aba (The Cube in Arabic) is a temple that was built by the Prophet Abraham and his son Ishmael. There are also beliefs within the realm of the religion that state that this is the place where Eve landed on earth when her and Adam were cast down from heaven. It is also believed that there was a time when all the world was water and that the first point to emerge from the water and become land is at that point.

Muslims circle the Ka'aba 7 times as they believe this somehow centers their souls.

Because it is one of the Five Pillars of Islam and a most sacred place of that religion.

All followers are asked to make at least one pilgrimage, if they are able.
