hierarchy in the family (pecking order).
No, but if they are male mice they will fight for dominance
No. They probably will fight.
a litter/group of mice.
It is debatable. There are cases where huge colonies of male mice are kept together, but it takes careful planning & constant attention. There is a crucial point in their developement, which is between 5 & 7 weeks of age, where young male mice may be moved into the living quarters of adult males, & are accepted, as they are not threats & will learn their places, & fighting it seldom a problem. With brothers, it's much the same. If you have a full litter, only take out the aggressive ones, or separate them all into duos &/or trios (twos & threes), but if none are aggressive, you may leave them all together. Do not separate them for any length of time, & handle them in pairs, or all together. But, then there are cases where some male mice simply don't want to share, & never will, & you just have to leave them be.
you put a female and a male together but watch them incase they fight!!!
no, i had 2 mice now i have 24 and another litter on the way and the male is still alive. your mouse must have died of natural causes or he must have been ill.
nope. He lets the mother take care of the litter on her own. It would be odd if the couple ever met agin in the wild. If you are talking about breeding pet mice the male shoud be taken out of the cage if the female if prego.
mice have 8-14 siblings in a litter
They should live 2 or more. But male mice can't live together always. If you see your male mice fight or beep you should split them. Also i don't recommend to have more then 10 females together.
Female mice will likely turn lethargic if not with a companion. Two female mice may fight right away unless raised in same litter (litter mates). My experience with two females was not joyful. I now do not have any female mice now. But i wanted to eat them. They looked tasty =D I hope You Enjoy Your Mice. Keep Them Plump And Happy So They Wont Run When Trying To Put In The Boiling Water =] ENJOY! HEE HEEE MUA HA HAHA HAHA!
You probably can but you can get rodent litter at almost any pet store (try petco) and training mice to use a litter box can be hard but good luck
it means you have to seporate them the mom cant stop them
