Browning, Jurgen Matthaus I hope this helps. Hitler wanted Germany to be "pure". He was invading the Sudetenland, Czechoslowakia, and Poland, because most of the people their where ethnic Germans. He wanted to unite all "pure" Germans in one State. But, most of the people in these territories where also Jews and Gipsy's. They did not fit in his plan. At first he tried to relocate them to other places, forcing them out of their homes. When this did not work, he just started killing them. Well, there where more "sub-humans" as Hitler called those poor people, than he could handle. He had to find ways to kill the masses without making it too obvious. That's when the real Holocost started! He built Concentration Camps, where he could kill hundreds of people at a time. Hitler blaimed the result of WWI on the Jews, as well as that, he hated them. When he took power he started rounding them up. He did the same when he started taking over other countries. Using the jewish, polish, gay, gypis, slav, russian and mentally changled people as slave labour and then started to annalite them in gas chambours. Hitler did infact hate the Jews but did not start the disrimination against them as soon as he gained power. The first Jewish deportation was Kristallnacht...in 1938, after HItler had power for 5 years.This is why the holocaust occured- not because Hitler hated Jews and wanted to get back at them. The Germans were lost, and Hitler gave them a place to run, a place to belong. All the right doors were open for Hitler at the right times, it didn't "just happen". Hitler stared this because he was very crazy. he wanted to get rid of all Jews. He choose the right time to get rid of the Jews. he used the Jews as a Scapegoat to try and bring Germany back up. He wanted all of them gone so he set up a plan to make concentration camps, labor camps, and death camps, many people thought they were getting sent to work were proved wrong and saw their fate: death in crematoriums, and poison rooms, starvation unsanitary place ( bathrooms 1 for 25) they had no living space and if didn't do as told were shot that easily. Every day the general of the camp would come and one by one would choose who will work and who will die. At the end over 6 million jews were dead . Second, a long time ago the catholic church had all catholic people pay taxes and the Jews were exempt from this tax. Third, many people didn't know what the SS was doing and if they did know they were to afraid to say anything.
