Once a year ant queens and males are born. both of them have wings so that they can find each other and mate. If they are done the male dies, because he's done is job and the queen flies away. Where ever she lands she is gonna start a colony. She doesn't need the wings anymore so they are eaten by her young or just fall off.
So the short answer is because eventually she doesn't need them anymore.
They do not have wins only flying ants have wings because they did them to fly around if they need to
Yes, queen ants and some males have wings but worker ants don't
no red ants do not have wings
No
Flying black ants are male ants or newly queen ants. when male ants and newly queened ants mate, the queen will rip of her wings so the workers, who are all female, will be able to reconise them. male ants however males keep there wings
Yes
Silverfish never have wings. Most ants do not have wings. Males and queens have them for just a few hours.
Most ants have no wings, but during summer, you can see swarms of winged ants flying out looking for a new nest.
Ants with wings... are just that, ants with wings. They evolve to move on to a new nest and build a new colony. Sometimes what you think might be an ant with wings is a termite or carpenter ant, or vice versa. But check out some pictures and you'll see the difference. But gnats don't look remotely like ants. Seriously...
By opening their wings like a bird or insect of course. Obvious!!
poo sucka
they both have hard skin covering and jointed body segments. the difference is that ants have no wings and butterflies don't
