Covalent bonds are formed when atoms share electrons --- they both need the shared electron(s) to fill their outer electron shell. Ionic bonds are when one atom gives electron(s) to another atom --- the atom that has given the electron(s) has a positive charge and the atom that received the electron(s) has a negative charge
Elements form ionic or covalent compounds depending upon their valency.
for example :- All metals form ionic compounds generally as they are easily able to loose their electrons. Many non-metals gain these electrons and form ionic compound with the metals.
But many non-metals form covalent compounds by sharing their valence electrons with other non-metals. Most prominent being the carbon atom. Its very difficult for a carbon atom to gain or loose four electrons in its valence shell to form ionic compounds.
So, it forms covalent compounds by sharing its four electrons with other elements.
When the electronegativity difference between two atoms is below 2, then covalent bond is formed
The type of bond in which two atoms share electrons is called a covalent bond.
When atoms share electrons, they form a chemical bond, or covalent bond.
Covalent Bond .
Covalent bond is formed by the sharing of electrons between two atoms and it is this force of attraction that holds the atoms in covalent bond together.
If the atoms in a covalent bond share electrons equally, the bond is nonpolar.

This is a covalent bond.
A compound is formed from atoms. Covalent bond is weaker.
The bond between oxygen atoms is considered as covalent.
When atoms share two electrons it is called a covalent bond. A covalent bond consists of two types of bond a polar covalent bond and a non polar covalent bond.
covalent bond, coordinate bond and singlet bond

A covalent bond is formed when two atoms share electrons. This could be either a polar covalent bond or a non-polar covalent bond. Also, a more complex type of covalent bonding is the coordinate bonding.
If the atoms in a covalent bond share electrons equally, the bond is nonpolar.
do atoms of a covalent bond lose r share electrons
