They feed on the nectar
They are actually called 'Cactus Flowers'
If you want flowers to grow on your cactus you are supposed to water your cactus.
A cactus is a plant that flowers not a tree. Most plants have flowers you can't say a cactus is a flower.
A cactus that has flowers is giving the flowers fluids from within. A cactus is like a camel except with many more chambers. The cactus stores moisture for long periods of time.
Flowers help cactus plants survive in the desert by attracting pollinators. Because of pollination, the cactus plants may have fruits full of seeds. For example, the giant saguaro cactus [Carnegiea gigantea] depends upon bats for pollination of its huge, light colored bat blossoms.
javelinas eat cactus, berries, tubars, bulbs, prickley pears, roots, fruits, flowers and snakes.
It is mostly eating a cactus but sometimes they eat like flowers andshrubs and stuff :)
They love nectar from cactus flowers and just about any desert plant in bloom.
Some birds hollow out a section of a cactus to put their nests in it, this way the spines help protect their young as well as them. Also bats and birds love the nectar produced by cactus flowers, its a stable food source for them, they're also attracted to the bugs that surround the flowers and feed on them. Also some lizards eat the pads and fruit of the Opuntia cacti, humans also eat the pads of Opuntia as well as the fruit.
Cactus flowers tend not to be long blooming. Some cactus plants have night flowering blooms. Others have day flowering blossoms. Either way, the flowers need to be pollinated. Once pollinated, the flowers wither and develop the ovary. From the ovary develops the fruit, which produces cactus seeds. The seeds may be used by the cactus to feed the available wildlife and to reproduce.
