Why do black absorb light?
There is no definite answer to this question. It more of a science fact that has yet to be explained in full depth. Because white is the presence of all colors, it reflects all the light. Whereas black, the opposite color, would induce an opposite affect by absorbing all the light. This is why it isn't possible to have a flashlight that emits black rays.

Be careful not to confuse: Opaque objects are those that do not allow light to pass through it, but they can reflect light. It is BLACK objects that absorb all the incident light on it. To conclude, opaque objects do not necessarily absorb all the incident light on them but black objects ABSORB all the incident light on them (and are, of course, opaque)
