Maybe when the girl comes on so strong is seems like she is full of herself and believes that she should be able to just have that guy she is coming onto.
Because boys are just learning about relationships, many boys feel like they have to be 'in charge' or 'the man' and so a strong willed girl is unsettling to them. As they grow up most men learn to deal with women as equals and can enjoy a relationship with a partner instead of a toy.
