You would have to ask the perpetrators this question, and even they would not fully know. A lot of rapists will have different answers to why they committed such a horrible crime against a woman. Here are some possibilities:

1. Because sometimes a girl doesn't wanna be a boy's wife (so that the girl won't have babies) so the boy will like kidnap or capture the girl so that they can rape to have babies and some has different reasons why. This scenario is quite rare, and is portrayed in the movie, Against Her Will.

2. It is an expression of a need for control and dominance over another.

3. The males in question were raped or abused themselves, and at the subconscious level, they are attempting to take back what was taken from them.

4. They hate women, or at least their mothers, and they are afraid of the power of women. However, they are unable to express or come to terms with these things.

A personal theory:

The power dynamic problem could possibly come from upbringing. Here is some conjecture about this. Abuse is often a factor, and single, broken, or divorced homes may be a factor as well. It is possible that men/boys have more fragile egos than females. They need the rough and tumble world, and need to feel in control of situations. There may even be an innate type of sexism or inborn tendency to a social pecking order, though stable environments would lessen the manifestation of such inner needs.

A single mother may go overboard in her discipline when raising boys. She may be hurt by men. So she may subconsciously find a number of male traits to be undesirable. She lacks the male perspective, and she may be been hurt by people with such traits. So she may punish her boys just for being boys and not really realize she is doing it. Also, her work schedule means she cannot bond the same way with her children as other mothers can. Perhaps more bonding means less discipline is required. So the children are left to raise themselves. Then when the mother wants to start correcting them, and may resort to things most would consider abuse to regain control.

It could be that boys are more sensitive to abuse from female parents. At least with male abusers of heterosexual boys, the boy may reason that he has deferred power, and someday the tables will turn. But if the abuser is female, young boys cannot use this defense mechanism. (Gay or trans youth might experience something different in this context, since the inner dynamics would be different.) So some boys may have a mother who essentially emasculates them. This in turn leads to inner rage. To complicate things, the rage has no acceptable vent. If you were brought up like that in a culture where hating, confronting, or retaliating against a parent is considered a cardinal sin, then that can lead to displaced anger.

So with an emasculating parent, all this inner rage, no culturally accepted outlet, and no male figures to teach more acceptable masculine behavior, that causes an inner vacuum, and sets the stage for violence against women. To look for male role models to give them what was taken from them, they may turn to gangs or rough boys and try to emulate them. Away from the abuse and stifling of their male energy, their repressed subconscious tries to emerge. However, it tries to emerge all at once, and outside any healthy guidance from others. So they see women who strike a nerve in them and all they know is that they want to hurt them, and they don't know why. They are drawn to take back what was taken from them, or possibly to punish others for how their own mothers harmed them. Or, if the victims are nothing like their mothers, it could be intense rage for not having had mothers like their victims. Perhaps their culture taught them that passive people are weak and therefore deserving of abuse. If the abusers in their lives were male, then it would be a matter of taking their abusers' place and acting out what was done to them. They would get a sense of power by reversing the roles and becoming the abusers.

Besides the human rights issue, the legality issues, the ethics, and the fact that rape harms others, another problem with rape is that it is only a temporary solution to the inner feelings of powerlessness. It dampens the feelings for a moment, and it may even make the rapist feel miserable to the point of not wanting to do it again (for that moment). However, the faulty programming within is still intact, and the root of all that anger and rage is still there. Their anger is really towards their own parents or other abusers, not towards the women they attack, so the attacks solve nothing.

What is it called when you have a fetish about raping young girls?

There are two issues here. "Rape" is called rape -- forced sex with an unwilling person. Rape is usually about power, not sex. Sex with pre-adolescents (girls or boys) is called pedophilia. Sexual attraction to young girls (adolescent and beyond) is normal for guys,, but the law prohibits sex with underage people, even if they're willing.
