so you can plug in accessories which use usb type plugs. like i-pods
They come with earbuds so you can play them anywhere you take it in the portable music player sense. Or you can play the music on your computer. Basically anywhere that has a USB port should let you play it. USB port or regular auxilary port although you won't be able to pick your music It just plays it in order. My home stereo has a USB port so I can plug it right into my surround sound which is nice. If your car stereo comes with an auxilary input then you can play it there as well... some new decks have them on the front but its the same deal that you cant choose what you play. I bought a cord for $100 that is basically a USB for my car stereo and it lets me run my iPod through my CD changer.
You can't either play Ipod music through USB port, or buy anything else to play music. Since there's a special port for Ipod to connect to car stereo. So the only way to solve this problem is to get a car stereo which can support Ipod itself. For example, Eonon has such good car stereo, support both Ipod and bluetooth. Yes they do make car stereos with USB. Double check that the USB will read memory cards or flash drives and that the USB is not just for mp3 devices instead of storage devices.

USB Port located in the rear of the computer case.
Can you make cd changer cord on a clarion 7770 work an ipod
A USB on a car radio can be used to listen to music. One can plug in their iPod or MP3 player listen to songs on the car stereo rather than listening to the radio.
USB port.
The USB port is hardware.
A USB port is both and input and output port. Depends on what is connected to it as to which is functions as. Connect a camera and it is an input device. Connect a printer and it is an output device. Connect a printer/scanner and it is both.
