I don't believe cats love people who hate cats. If some visitors are in a room where a cat lives, the cat may approach a person who dislikes or is afraid of cats because that person will typically sit very still "so the cat won't notice them." The guests who love cats will usually be calling out to the kitty, vying for its attention (I'm guilty of this; I can't resist a kitty). The cat may be wary of strangers and so gravitates to the stillness of the first guest. This happened to my mother while visiting me. She is not cat person. As we were visiting in the living room, my mom suddenly exclaimed that my cat was "sitting on her foot". I admit I thought this was hilarious, knowing my sweet kitty was no threat to her. I told her to move her foot slightly and he would move on, but she was frozen. So, I picked him up and that was that. My advice if you don't want a cat near you is to just move around a bit. The cat will move away from you.
