The long finned whale is occasionally killed on the Faroe Islands when a group of the dolphins gets very close to the shore. It's part of an old tradition on the islands and often people would find themselves starving if the dolphins did not arrive a given year. The killing is tightly regulated by the "long-whale-foreman" and only those with experience are allowed in with an apprentice at hand. The meat is distributed amongst the populace, and those who need it the most (large families etc.) are given special attention.
Very little they can do. The killings take place on the self-governed North-Atlantic Faroe Islands. Local people have been easting the long-finned Pilot whales - which are part of the dolphin family, but not the kind of animal you know from the Flipper films - for centuries. Nowadays they could be replaced by other sources of meat - and to a large extant are - , but eating them is a part of the local culture. [If anything is going top stop it, it will be worries about the healthiness of the meat that may be polluted]
If we continue with these senseless killings then we don't deserve to live on such a magnificent planet!
For God's sake these animals have as much, if not more intelligence than the __-_-- idiots who kill them.
Just for once forget the past, we have but 50 years of living left on this planet, yes you got it less than 50 years, probably more like 30!
For God's sake Denmark stop this senseless slaughter.
Because some idiot fishermen think they have to kill them because they're "competition" even though dolphins are smart enough that they've learned by themselves to hunt with fishermen.

Dolphins are endanger because the boats with sharp blades cut the dolphins or dolphins get stuck in a fisher's net the fisher men either free it leave it stuck or kill it or a man takes its gun and shoots it so that the dolphin does not get the fish before he does or people drop bad stuff in the ocean. Never do this thing to dolphins make notes to people and tell them to not hurt the dolphins never ever! Save the dolphins! Do not kill them!
