If you look at the shape of a dog's body, laying on his back (spine) would be an unstable condition, and he'd roll to the side one way or the other. Dogs do not lie on their spine because it hurts. :) There are dogs that lay right on their backs, my dog does it.(Jack Russell)
to scrach their back
they lay on there backs and die and decay
pugs are dogs, and dogs do NOT lay eggs
bettas are not sick when they lay on their side they sleep that way
They cannot sleep on their backs because their body shape and mass makes it impossible for them to lay, let alone sleep on their backs like a dog or cat can. They have a huge gut that can get easily twisted up if they roll onto their backs, and thus can only lay and sleep on their sides or chests with their feet tucked under.
pecking clucking lay eggs eating
they lay on their backs and use a rock to crack it
rabbits don't go into a trance when you lay them on their backs. you have to train them to stay in that position and they have to really trust you. normally if you turned a rabbit on its back, it would kick at you and turn back over.
