Because they don't look so good when they are fat. That notion comes from the messages society sends that thin is better. Some who are obese might hate others who are obese to make themselves feel better, eg., "At least I'm 300 lbs and not 500 pounds like you!"
Some psychology behind why obesity is hated is the meta messages it may send. Large weight is associated with wealth in so many people's minds, though it is often a sign of the opposite. If you go hungry often, the body learns to store more fat. Also, the least expensive food products are among the most fattening. If you are on a budget, then you might shop by calories and get what gives you the most for the money. Anyway, people associate obesity with wealth and laziness, and conclude the person is selfish or just takes from society. That is unfair, but that is how so many are trained to think.
There may also be guilt involved. People feel guilty for having it so easy and not working hard or exercising, so they take it out on others for exemplifying what they hate in themselves.
