It can also mean that there is a behavioral issue,but I'm not able to be all that certain that that could be a possibility.

∙ 15y agoDogs who chew up your stuff are usually bored. Dogs need a lot of exercise, and if they are not walked at least one hour every day, they act up. Also, dogs are pack animals. They feel uncomfortable if they do not know exactly where their place in the pack is, and if you are not clearly the leader, the dog may be trying to show you who is boss. I reccommend that you start exercising the dog a lot more, and also making it very clear that you are the alpha dog.
