∙ 10y agoFlowers are pretty and colourful in order to attract insects, birds and animals which then help in the pollination process. Unless flowers have something to make them attractive in some way to another species (and sometimes that attractiveness is through a powerful scent rather than colourful flowers), no creature will want to come to it for nectar and pollen, and this will prevent it from being pollinated, thus limiting the perpetuation of the species.
