The monument on Rushmore was intended to honor presidents of the United States, not founding fathers. It just so happens, perhaps not coincidentally, that two of the men everybody agrees were among the greatest presidents, Washington and Jefferson, were also founding fathers. Everybody also agrees that Lincoln is one of the greatest presidents, certainly second only to Wshington and there are those who would rate him above Washington. As for Teddy Roosevelt, he may have seemed more important when the monument was being sculpted, in the 1930's, than he does now. Even then there were those who felt he was not important enough to be included with the other three but he was a cousin of Franklin Roosevelt who was president when the project was under way so what are you going to do? Michael Montagne Theodore Roosevelt is the backbone and founder of the national park system. Roosevelt was an avid outdoorsman and he loved to travel the country. That could be why he is on there.

Sam Adams is famous for being one of the Founding Fathers in the U.S. He lived in Massachusetts and was instrumental in the American Revolution.
Technically, no. Lincoln was not a Founder. Rather, the Founding Fathers were those were present for the making of the Declaration of Independence and the Constitution, and those who shaped the country as it was being formed. Lincoln's legacy in history is as the Savior and Protector of the Union, but not as a Founding Father.

If by founding fathers you mean delegates to the Constitutional Convention then the answer is yes. there was a great deal of vigorous debate over what form the new government should take and everybody had to compromise on something. Ultimately only thirty nine of the delegates actually signed the Constitution. Michael Montagne
There is only one US president (Obama)and he is a father. Most of the former presidents were also fathers- exceptions being Washington, Jackson and Polk.
Jackson reshaped the presidency by being the first president to declare the republic democratic which was exactly what the founding fathers were afraid of. He also was the first to declare he had a mandate from the people; as well as being a celebrity of the time.
