Most predators close their eyes when they grab prey. This is to protect the eyes. If an insect or other animal hit a frog's eyes, it could injure them. You can see other predators like sharks do the same thing.

According to exploratorium.edu, "As a frog swallows its prey, the eyes sink through openings in the skull and help force the food down the throat. This is why frogs seem to blink as they eat".
