Why do girls break up with guys then want to be friends then get back together?

Guys break up with girls and still want to be friends because of two main reasons: Either they really enjoyed your relationship before you began dating, and they would like to continue that; or they want to keep you around in case things change. I believe the first reason is the most common.
Breaking up is not the end of the world. You should be glad that they still want you in their life. Embrace it, and enjoy it.

∙ 14y agothey do that because they feel guilty for the breakup so ( Im a girl ) they feel that the least they could do is be your friend. They want to get back together because they are really into you and just want you back. Hope this helps :)

When they give the NEW guy a test drive and they figure it's not going to work out, they then dump him and try to get back with you, then realizing they should have never cheated and left you in the first place.
