It's all part of a communicating process. What a girl (woman) really wants by desiring to be offered a rose is not the flower itself but what it represents, communicates her. By buying a rose and offering it to a girl, you show that 1) you dedicated some of your time, some of your thinking to HER, hence 2) you care for her in some way. This is so easy and simple, yet so many men insist on going against all that it's "traditional", "déjà vu" or "old", ignoring that by doing so they can hurt their partners in ways they will never imagine.

∙ 14y agoRoses in Western cultures are symbols of love and doing so shows either an interest in the woman in question or wishes to express desire for her. Flowers are universal in being simple ways to express admiration, love, and various other emotions throughout the ages.
