Why do guys have to explain themselves to girls about why we don't talk to them?

I've never been in a relationship so i don't really know but my friend is going out with this guy who doesn't talk much around girls but talks a lot around his mates. when they first went out my friend (lets call her Jane) and the guy (lets call him Jack) were happy but it was Jane who talked the most and the one who was keeping the relationship together as much as she can even though Jack was the one who asked her out. When me and Jane are talking by ourselves she's always talking about how scared she is that her relationship might break. One day we found out that Jack was talking about other girls legs with his friends and that broke their relationship but they went out again after one week. Their relationship now isn't close its quite distant really and they don't seem to be bonded each other except for the fact that they're 'going out'. in the end girls (i think) want to know things to make sure that you're not keeping anything from them that will hurt them - and its better that way because if they find out later by searching for the reason themselves they'll be really really upset.

The question is a bit unclear, but let's look at the possibilities.

It is assumed is that he is explaining to you that he hasn't been talking to you maybe due to the following:

• Busy with school/work
• A lot of family issues
• Stress
• Other friends/hanging out
• Dating someone new
• Or.. just not interested.

It's better for guys to be more straight forward with you on why they're not talking to you rather than not tell you at all. It's easier on you to know the direct answer rather than sit around and wonder why he's been ignoring you for a long while, right?
