That could happen for one or any number of reasons. Some guys just say I love you hoping to get in your pants because sex is all they are after. Some guys don't know what love is and or mistake love for lust. Some guys are all into a girl when they first meet them because he get's a rush but after the new wears off he's on to the next girl. Some guys are just confused. They don't know what they feel or want and some guys pull back and leave a girl he claimed to love because deep down they are afraid of a relationship and terrified of committment. Every guy is different so to know exactly why he left you would have to directly ask him but my opinion of a guy who says I love you then suddenly leaves without giving any reason or explanation doesn't deserve a second of your time. Some guys feel as if they're not ready yet so they leave you and then when they're ready, they regret it. Or some guys found someone else but later on, you're still the one they love the most so they regret it. Some has peer pressures, some have family issues. Or some just are too blind too see.
