Hamsters store their food because they are a type of rodent (Chipmunk, squirrel, etc.) They put the food in their cheeks, and then go to their bed (nest). Then they spit out the food into a corner and then go back to sleep, so when they wake up they will not need to go back to their food bowl and get some more. They also will sleep more often as they age. Remember: Hamsters only have a life of 2-4 years.
Sort of. They have puches at the side of their mouth which is dry and they will keep it in there until they want to take it out and put it somewhere in their cage. Sometimes they keep it in a corner of their cage but most of the time they will store it in their bed and proberbly eat it later.
Hope I have helped :)
