yes to overcome your fear
Horror movies are meant to suspend reality in order to strike fear into the viewer. There is a special emphasis placed on foreshadowing and dramatic tools, such as ominous music.
Jane had a morbid fear of spiders Jack had a morbid fascination for horror movies
A lot of horror movies are based on real fears that many people have. People are scared of being in a place they are unfamiliar with and having something bad happen. It's a fear of not knowing how to escape or being unable to control your surroundings. Horror movies bases around old motels are playing on this fear.
Well, what I think a horror movie is a scary, mysterious, thrilling, chilling, violent, suspenseful type of show. It's for the people who love either violence, suspense, or the mythical paranormal type of thing. I just watch horror movies when I'm bored or I want to see something rated R. I hope this helped. :D *-*
Horror is something that inspires fear, terror, and dread.
-sarcasm- Unless you are the type of person with a very good memory and undying fear of gore/death/etc. then yes. Of course not. =_='

It depends on the movie, the person, their surroundings, and more. Generally, anything that isn't expected or immediately explainable can produce a level of fear; horror movies may heighten that fear for a while. For example, a weird sound in the basement might be kind of startling, but a weird sound in the basement as you're watching a movie where there's a killer in the basement would have a different effect on you.
There isn't a scientific term for fear of scary movies so fear of scary movies is just called, fear of scary movies
