Just as dogs have different barks for different occasions, horses have different neighs. Sometimes they are calling to other members of the herd. Or they might be expressing fear or lust or even hunger. So why they neigh depends on the situation.

Because they are happy or sending ouut a danger signal.

That is just the sound they make. Humans like us talk, and horses neigh.

There are several different types of whinnies.

1. to call attention to them self

2. to communicate with each other

3. to "call" a friend

there are many other reasons too. those were just a few. look it up on Google.

because it is either uncomfortable or sick. if your horse is doing that i would contact a vet fast
