Because they are only truly identical after their cells first split into two embryos. After that, they will begin to divide independently of each other (using the same instructions from DNA). Since cell division is complex, they will not divide identically, which will make subtle changes in their construction. Since they are using the same instructions for cell division (from DNA) they will look remarkably similar, but not truly identical.

Identical twins may have slight differences at birth due to environmental factors and random genetic variations that occur during embryonic development. While identical twins share the same DNA, their genes can be expressed differently due to factors such as the position of the babies in the womb, differences in nutrition or blood supply, or random mutations. These small variations can lead to subtle physical or behavioral differences between twins.

Which kind of twins are identical or non-identical are more like two children born at different times?

Non-identical twins are more like normal siblings. Identical twins have the exact same DNA, so will be very similar in appearance. Their environment will cause them to have very slight differences, such as different fingerprints and freckles.

If an identical twin marries an identical twin what is the likelihood of them having twins?

the statistics of twins marrying twins having twin children is only a slight fractional increase in percentage of chance. it is almost negligable however the slight increase has lead many people to believe the common misconseption of twim marraige resulting in the birth of more twins alot.

Why are there differences between identical twins?

Although Identical twins look the same and share the same DNA, there are some differences between the two do to there environment and way of life as they develop. However, one way to distinguish between the twins from birth would only be by their finger prints. In other words, identical twins finger prints are different from birth because of there movements within the mothers womb and what they are touching within her womb before they are born.

How many different kid of twins are there?

there are two types of twins-- fraternal and identical. Fraternal twins are genetically unique, and they usually have physical differences. Identical twins are identically identical, such as a clone, and have exact physcial characteristics, excluding weight and scars etc.

Why must any differences between identical twins be controlled only by the environment?

Identical twins have the same DNA - meaning that without the effects of environment they would be identical in every single way.

Is the DNA from identical twins identical What about fingerprints?

There are differences in both DNA and fingerprints. The Claim: Identical Twins Have Identical DNA

Are identical twins always the same size and birth weight?

No

What are fraternal twins?

Fraternal twins are two siblings that have the same birth day, but do not look identical.

What are the chances of identical twins having twins themselves?

Women who are themselves fraternal twins have a 10% chance of producing twins, identical twin women have only a 0.6% probability of having a twin birth.

How identical twins can be different when they have the same DNA?

Because they separated into separate beings early in the cell division process. After that, a quadrillion factors are involved in the minuscule differences all along the development process. This is how they become different people.

What is the Differences between identical and nonidentical twins?

Identical twins are born together, and look exactly alike.Nonidentical twins are born together, but do not look exactly alike.A good example of non identical would be boy and girl twins,

Differences between identical and fraternal?

identical twins are from the same egg cell that split, but ferternal twins are from 2 entirely different fertilized egg cells. Thus identical look the same and ferternal can look entirely different.
