Why should kids do community service?
Kids are possibly asked to do community service as an enrichment exercise. They would learn volunteerism and how to become involved in community funded programs, or non-profit organizations. The "kids" might be able to use these programs themselves! Children usually learn compassion and teamwork. I think it is a social exercise for them.AnswerIt is to foster a sense of belonging to the community and to instill a feeling of giving assistance to the groups or businesses who are in that community. It gives the students a feeling of satisfaction and it also teaches them to help your fellow human beings without expecting anything in return, except the knowledge they have done something to help contribute to the "common good. " It teaches them to be accountable and responsible, and hopefully, they learn if you want to change the world-you have to start in your corner of the universe by helping others. -Well that supposedly what it is for as the two answer above states but you can not force kids to join programs when the kid does not want to, it should be a choice. Kids do not learn from being forced to do community service, what if adults should be forced to do community service even though they do not need to as it is the excuse of rite of passage not to. Kids should volunteer only to not be forced, public schools should not dare force students to help with community service if it is a voluntary act and not an exercise to prepare them. It is best that students as human beings that they are not to be forced to do this work unless they choose to do so no school can say that it is the necessity and should be forced upon students, but for the most part it should only be voluntary.

How can you get out of community service?
Unfortunately there is no way to get out of your required community service. I suggest going someplace that actually interests you (if you like to cook, go to a soup kitchen, if you like kids go tutor underprivileged kids, etc. ) If your required to have some kind of form signed after completing community service, you can always use pencil and then change the total hours to make it seem like you worked longer than you did.
