If things are well, they shouldn't be scratching and digging at themselves. Labs sometimes have sensitive skin. If they are being bathed with harsh shampoo, or not being rinsed well, it could cause irritation. Oatmeal shampoos may help. Also, they may have an allergy or flea bite dermatitis. If changing bathing habits does not help, you may want to get them checked for other issues.
