Lemmings are herbivores. When they reduce the availability of the grasses that they eat, they move on. The "overgrazing" is the result of their food supply no longer supporting their population. They look for other areas that have enough food to support them. The increase in their numbers attracts predators. Those animals help reduce the population of lemmings. There is no mass suicide run.

No. This is not an attempt at suicide. Rather, they are diving into the water and swimming to migrate.

actually the idea that lemmings attempt suicide or even migration is a falsehood caused by a documentary that unfortunately thought it would be more exciting if the lemmings were driven off a cliff. or at least that's my understanding of it.

That is actually a myth. They do not commit suicide. During their migrations they do sometimes come to cliffs. In order to continue their journey they will often try to jump down from the cliff. This is where the myth comes from. Also, as they migrate in large groups it occasionally happens that as they reach the edge of a cliff, some get pushed over accidentally. Many will jump off the cliff and continue their journey safely.

No.

That's just an old myth, helped along by arranged scenes in a nature "documentary".

Is the lemming migration a myth or fact?

The lemming migration is a fact. Lemmings are small rodents that migrate in large groups to find new food sources or establish new territories. The myth part comes from the misconception that lemmings commit mass suicide by jumping off cliffs, which has been debunked.

I think you're referring to lemmings, a small rat-like animal. However, the idea that they commit mass suicide by marching and flinging themselves into the sea is a myth, it doesn't actually happen.
