Yes, Texas is one of the 31 states that requires vehicles to have a front and rear license plate. Despite the fact that every state bordering Texas requires only one plate, Section 504.943 of the Transportation Code requires that a vehicle display two plates. Do classic cars need front license plates in Texas?
You can transfer your license plates from one car to another, in the state of Illinois. You must be the owner of the vehicle the license plate is being transferred to.
I know tha TX and CO require 2 and NM only one
The state of Texas requires that you have 2 plates. One in front and one in the rear.
Vehicles (with the exception of motorbikes and motor tricycles) require two license plates, one at the front and one at the rear. Motorbikes and motor tricycles only require one number plate at the rear. When towing, the trailer/caravan/car etc that is being towed must also display a rear number plate that matches the towing vehicle. Motorbikes and motor tricycles registered before 1st September 2001 may display a front license plate but there is no requirement to do so.
2 plates are required in CT.
Not necessarily your plates, but you will have to surrender your old drivers license when you are issued your new one.
