Why do men put you down and call their girlfriends such horrible names?

Usually, when males OR females do this, its because they have some type of inferiority complex.
This means that since they can't boss anyone else around, they try to boss you around. They are trying to control you by putting you down, and trying to make you be weak of mind and soul, so they can better control you.
This is most usually the case. Sometimes, that is just peoples nature; other times, they may have anger problems, ect.
It is most usually different for most cases.

It's not what he (or she) doesn't do, its what they do. But no, it is not necessary to call one names, or put one down for behavious to be termed abusive.... but you'd need to define what IS being done.
