Some rocks are old. These sometimes have fossils. This is because the rocks used to be mud. When a inprint is made on the mud and does not get washed away the mud hardends the inprint stays.Years later the inprinted mud turns into a rock.If you get lucky and crack that rock open, the inprint is there.
Metamorphic rocks don't contain fossils. You may find a few distorted fossils in slate but these are only there because some slates are not very highly metamorphosed.
Fossils are found in sedimentary rocks that have not metamorphosed.
because some animals have died and fossilised in the rock.
sedimentary rocks
Sedimentary rocks. and metamorphic rocks made form sedimentary rocks.
Sedimentary rocks have numerous fossils
it shows fossils because when sedimentary rocks are formed waste and decayed matter get cement( crushed ) togather. The change of mineral forms metamorphic rocks, but the fossils will remain in the rocks only the minerals will change. eg Limestone ----- marble. Limestone forms marble which is used to build taj mahal.
no they are found in Sedimentary rocks
I need the answer
Sedimentary rocks. and metamorphic rocks made form sedimentary rocks.
numerous fossils
No. In general, there are no fossils in igneous or metamorphic rocks, because the high heat and pressure involved would destroy any fossils. Fossils are almost always found in sedimentary rock.
yes fossils are found in sedimentary rocks but not in igneous and metamorphic rocks. hope this helps
Sedimentary rocks have numerous fossils
Sedimentary rocks have numerous fossils
Igneous rocks and most metamorphic rocks, of an igneous origin.
There are three basic types of rock; sedimentary, igneous and metamorphic. Igneous rocks are formed by volcanic action and don't contain fossils. Sedimentary rocks are formed, usually under water, by eroded material accumulating. Metamorphic rocks are formed when sedimentary rocks are changed by heating and/or pressure. From this, you can see that sedimentary rocks are the most likely to contain fossils, although metamorphic rocks also can contain fossils. Any sedimentary rock can contain fossils, but some make fossil hunting easier. Shales and mudstones are particularly good; chalk is pretty much entirely made of fossils - it's formed of skeletons of small organisms, but its difficult to see the individual fossils.

Igneous rocks and metamorphic rocks, because the intense heat and pressure destroys fossils.
