Society seems to put more pressure on women regarding their appearance than on men.
While men are not immune to societal pressure, nor the vanity which leads to an interest in cosmetic surgery; there are simply far more societal influences that would push a women towards considering it, than there are for most men.
There are also more jobs available to women that are based on pure appearance than there are for men.
