Food chains can be seen in a energy pyramid. There are rarely more than three or more links since each predators are more dominant than others. This also means that particular of animals are barely been eaten from other predators. In addition, through the energy pyramid, the reason why is because 10% of it's energy in each trophic level is used and 90% of it is lost which results of no more than four or five links ( Tertiary/ Quatinery consumers).
It is limited because the energy transferred to the next trophic level is decreased....only 10% is transferred each time. You would eventually run out of energy And because if we or the animals don't eat the earth will be gone
A lot of energy is wasted between each level of a food chain (known as trophic levels). By the time it gets to five levels, there is very little left of the original energy.
Different amount of energy is lost at each stage of every food chain and so the food chain can contain 3 organisms or 4 organisms, depending on each organism.
because they all got malested

Every organism is part of some food chain/web. In other words there is no such organisms.
food chains are a series of steps in which organisms transfer energy, and a food web links all the food chains in an ecosystem together.
"An ecosystem can contain multiple food chains, which combined create a food web."
Food chains only include living organisms, plants and animals. A hurricane is not a living organism.
The kind of organisms that are at the start of most food chains are producers. Producers make their own food and animals feed off of them.
What is arguably at the base of the food chain in a pond are the organisms that use sunlight to synthesize the stuff they need. Those would be the algae.
they don't effect the food chain there are still crabs right then how do we effect the food chain.
Yes, because a food chain may contain as many organisms as needed or observed.
A food chain is easily destroyed because, it doesn't accurately show all the kinds of organisms that each heterotroph can consume to get energy from. Therefore, food webs display the various pathways that energy movement can happen in an ecosystem so it does no have to be rearranged.
They are all terms that are used to talk about organisms in a habitat. Autotrophs are the producers (plants) heterotrophs are organisms that cannot produce their own food and eat other organisms for food. A food chain shows a series of organisms each dependent on the next as a source of food
Microorganisms such as algae are photosynthetic and convert energy from the sunlight into usable energy for organisms. Since organisms are inefficient at converting energy when consuming organisms, there needs to be a constant inflow of energy to sustain higher levels of the food chain. The loss of energy also explains why there are lesser numbers of organisms higher up on the food chain.
