Christianity began as a non-denominational group after the ascension of Christ. Since then, there have always been groups that have not been aligned to any of the formal denominations. Non-denominational churches have increased in the post war period as many become disillusioned with the mainstream denominations.
If a church is non-denominational and does not abide in communion, that's not necessarily a bad thing. However, if it's non denominational, and professes to follow christ, it's a very bad thing...If a non-denominational christian church does not follow the lords command in II Corinthians to partake of communion in remembrance of him.....then it's not christian at all. Being non denominational does NOT necessarily mean it's not christian...it just means it's neither lutheran, methodist, baptist etc. It just means that it follows the teachings of Christ.
