You could well use oil in your car as a fuel, (e.g. vegetable oil) - this is basically what biofuels are. The only problem with them is that you need LOTS of plants to generate the fuel, to do this you need lots of land, and that in itself is not entirely eco-friendly. Plus its very expensive.
