Wild ostriches face being eaten by predators: lions, and hyenas, mainly, unless they can outrun them. They are also hunted by natives for food. Ostriches are also farmed in some parts of Africa for their meat. There is a farm that rears ostriches not far from my home in Lancashire, England!

No, ostriches are not a threatened species. They thrive in their native habitat and are farmed in North America for their meat, eggs and feathers.

They are close to extinction, due to the fact they can't blend in with the enviroment as well as other animals, so they are hunted often in the wild.
