If your parents are saying no, you could try asking them if there's a specific reason why, though a warning: a lot of parents fall back on "because I said so" when faced with this question, because they know from bitter experience that the child won't understand or agree with the real reason, even when it's true, and the question is really just an excuse to argue about it some more.
