Why do people abuse others?

People often abuse out of frustration, anger, feelings of entitlement, feeling abused by others, or because of a lack of emotional maturity. They may blame the ones they abuse for creating problems in their lives or ruining their day. They may displace anger or abuse from others, like if a boss chews out an employee, the employee takes it out on his wife, the wife takes it out on the child, the child takes it out on the dog, and the dog bites the mail carrier who then shows up at the post office with weapons. Okay, that is an extreme example, and of course, anger at another is no excuse to abuse.

It is not just Black people who are abused. All different races of people have been abused by their own race or by other races at one time or another. There is something evil in all of us that makes us want to, oppress, dominate or abuse another person or race. Some people are just as guilty when they know this is going on and sit and do nothing. Maybe they make an anonymous phone call to the state, but how many reach their hand out and really help the individual who they think is being hurt? It seems like a lot of us know children are being sexually abused, but who among us would volunteer to take a foster kid into their homes and love, care for and provide for that child and see them through to healing and restoration. Most of the people I see give out of their extra or make those cowardly anonymous phone calls and then pat themselves on the back. How about a question of why are their children being sexually abused all across the world? Why do we sit here in comfort and really do nothing to provide any real help to those that are being abused? If I sit and do nothing I am just as guilty as the person as the person doing the abuse because I CHOSE to close my ears and eyes to the cry of the weak.
