This answer is intended to be a general answer. "Why do people ask stupid or inappropriate questions when the posting can not be linked to the person's true identity?" It does not address the "helpful website" portion of the question. Since these questions have no link to the person's true identity, there is no reason for the person posting to feel stupid or ashamed during their everyday life. There are no repercussions for asking stupid or inappropriate questions. Why people ask stupid questions: 1) The people who ask have done little or no research. They see no reason to perform the work of researching the topic when others can do the work for them. Think about it this way: Wouldn't you allow someone to do the work you don't want to do, if all you had to do was type a few words? 2) The people don't know how to formulate a question, and don't read over what they've written before posting. Why people ask inappropriate questions: 1) confirmation of an unfounded or skewed belief (such as "everyone on the internet is stupid") 2) finding that some people share the viewpoint as posted, whether or not it's the the viewpoint of the post creator (such as racial bias) 3) confirmation in their sense of humor via the internet (such as putting in quotes from movies) ==In Doggish== A: "brke. brke. brke." B: "brke brke brke." A: "brke brke brke." B: "brke." A: "argh! arghargh-arghargh. arghargh-argh!"
