The main reason that people in Western countries today believe in Jesus Christ is that they were born into families that believed in Jesus and simply followed their parents. This number has been falling fairly rapidly over recent decades, but is more than balanced by new converts in poor developing countries. Missionaries preach throughout Africa and Asia in the hope of winning converts to Christianity.

There are other paths to God, and people have the right to decide how to worship God (or not). Too many Christians have set a bad example. People will believe in Christ if they want to, and if they are convinced that they are on the right path. Jesus said that there would always be people who would not believe, even if they saw incredible miracles, such as someone rising from the dead. People do not believe for various reasons. Jesus is and remains almighty despite people's unbelief.
