One reason The Bible can be difficult to understand is that it is full of contradictions. We expect different books written by different authors to contain differences, even contradictions, but there is a common view that the Bible is infallible and can not contain contradictions. Once we realise that the bible is really just a collection of books by different authors and that it therefore can contain inconsistencies, it begins to be much easier to read.
Another reason the Bible can be difficult to understand is that the Old Testament contains many 'doublets', in which the same story is told in two different ways by two different authors in what is now the same book. Thus, the story of Noah is a complex story that at one time seems to say that the Flood lasted forty days, but also that the Flood lasted one whole year. When the two stories are separated, each is seen as a simple and yet complete account of the biblical Flood.
In the days when the Bible was being written, everyone spoke in a different way then we do now. The first English translation of the New Testament, by William Tyndale, was printed in 1525. The King James Version (not a true translation, but an edited version), was printed in 1611 in English.
Tyndale's translation and the King James version, were somewhat difficult to understand then and are still hard to understand sometimes. Scholars have developed some different translations of the Bible that are easier to understand, but still carry the Word of God. Some of the translations out there include: New International Version, New Living Translation, New King James Version, English Standard Translation, The Message and kid's bibles.
The Bible is God's Living Word. I believe that God did not want all of it to come easily to us, so we must read His word a few times to really understand it. You might read a passage one day and get something out of it, then read it awhile later and get something very different this time. Everyone that reads it will take it a different way, because the word is living and because God is a very personal God and loving and unique. He connects to everyone in a different and special way.
Historical facts- The Christian Bible did not exist as a single document until 6th Century AD. It consists of 1189 Chapters in 66 different books written by at least 39 authors over a period of 1,500 years. It has been translated continuously into different languages in order to keep it relevant for the various contemporary cultures. These translations always involved adjustments to make the translations suit the needs of the current generations and cultures, without diluting or compromising the original messages of the bible.
Unless you have a hard time reading, don't believe in God, or are confused with who all of the people are (i.e. Adam, Joseph, Mark, Mary, etc.) then it really isn't hard.

A:One of the points of difference at the time of the Protestant Reformation was that the Catholic Church insisted that people needed the clergy to interpret the Bible for them, whereas the Protestants said that people could read and understand the Bible for themselves. Even today, with the ready availability of English-language Bibles, we find the Catholic versions tend to have explanatory footnotes to ensure 'correct' understanding, while Protestant translations generally have no footnotes.
It is not possible to answer this question because people find different things easy or difficult. What you find easy I might find difficult, and conversely.
I do not think you will find that quote in the Bible. None of the major versions of the Bible include the words "perplexed people" (King James Version, New International Version, New American Standard Bible).
People find that religion and belief in an afterlife gives them peace of mind. It also provides a blueprint for morality, meaning you don't have to question the difficult things in life.
The irony here is that in the request to find the irony, it is mentioned that the definition should be looked up in a dictionary on the home page, suggesting a lack of understanding of irony itself. Irony involves a situation where the outcome is different from what was expected, often with a humorous or sarcastic undertone. In this case, the request highlights a disconnect between the stated lack of understanding of irony and the instruction to find its definition.
