Why do people have to have a saddle on a horse so they can ride it?

For full sized bicycles, seated pedaling saves some effort.
For jumping and rough riding the saddle can be pinched between the legs to add control to the bike.
If you land hard, ending up on the saddle is likely to hurt less than slamming into the frame or the wheel.

∙ 12y agoyou dont have to have a saddle on a horse. people have saddles on horses so that they dont slip off the horse. you can also have no saddle on your horse which is called bare back, bare back is a lot harder.

Can you ride a horse bareback in a horse show?
Yes! there are special bareback classes in some shows. But dont show up to a jumping class without a saddle. some people think it is easier to ride a horse with a saddle its easier to stay on the horse. but i disagree i think it is easier to ride a horse bareback u dont have to mess with the saddle just put on the bridle swing your leg up and ride. But it takes a while to be able to ride. so dont try it right away me however have been riding since i was two. if u do ride a horse bareback you hold onto the horse with your legs and if you take a sharp turn you hold on to the horses mane. but when you do start riding bareback be careful you have no clue what will happen so be careful. I have years of experience so you people who cant ride that good dont try to do this with out a helmet.

Well, you have to wait for it to grow up into a horse, which is when it gets a saddle on its back. Usually it takes a year or so; you have to make sure it has a lot of affection for you. Anyway, once it has the saddle just press A in front of it like you would usually do to talk to it. Then you will be on its back. Press A to get off. Sad thing is that you can only ride the horse in your farm, besides the horse races, which you can enter on your horse.

Slow the horse down to a collected canter/lope and learn to sit deep in the saddle. Ride lots of small circles- every time the horse starts to speed up drop a smaller circle. You need to have good HANDS and seat. If you can develop this you be able to ride just about any horse!
