Simply because human beings will eat ANYTHING they develop a taste for ! Whether that's something like haggis (sheep offal mixed with bran and cornmeal, stuffed into the lining of a sheep's stomach) to 'sweetmeats' - which are sheep testicles !

As far as I am aware, Turks do not eat snake meat. It is generally considered haram according to Islamic Law and I have never heard of a Turkish dish in which snake meat was served.
