Most smart people eat plenty of fish. Not just the ones who live in coastal areas. They do this because fish is very beneficial for humans to eat. I do not believe that people who live nearer the coast eat more fish. I believe that people with plenty of money to spend can afford to eat more fish, in particular, locally caught fish because local fish is more than double the price of imported fish. Imported Barramundi is currently $16.00 per Kilo. Local Barramundi is $37.00 per Kilo. at Woollies right now. Topside Beef is $5.90 per Kilo at Foodworks. If you were on a limited income what would you buy? ---- The main reason why people in coastal areas eat plenty of fish is because fish is an easily available resource. It's cheaper in these areas than it is in the cities, and it's certainly fresher. It is easily available for anyone with a fishing rod or net. Consider places where fishing is a major resource, such as Asian coastal regions. These people must eat fish, because often it is all that is available to them. Many of these people eat much cheaper types of fish such as mullet, or whatever else is plentiful in their region, because it can be easily caught. These sorts of people have less access to meat such as beef and lamb, and whether or not fish is beneficial is of less interest to them than their opportunity to eat.

What could an archeologist infer from the fact that fish bones have been found at mountain sites of the Inca Empire while potatoes a mountain crop have been found at coastal Inca sites?

The presence of fish bones at mountain sites suggests that fish were either transported from coastal areas to the mountains, or that the Inca people living in the mountains traded with coastal regions. The discovery of potatoes, a mountain crop, at coastal sites could indicate trade networks that allowed for the exchange of different types of produce between regions within the Inca Empire.
