i get seizures myself and well people get them by playing like a viedo game for a long time or you don't eat right that's how i get them

It can be. Many people can have a seizure and exhibit no outward signs other than standing still looking a bit confused. But the type of seizure seen on TV certainly does happen.

For most situations that is not a problem and the seizure will pass and the person will recover. That is what happens for the vast majority of people who have seizures. They lead very normal and long lives.

Short answer- Yes, in general antibiotics may cause a grand mal seizure. Long answer- In any specific case, maybe. People who are sick and getting antibiotics are more likely to have a seizure from the underlying illness, and potentially the associated fever. There is a concept of a seizure threshold. Think of the brain like a pot of water, and a seizure like boiling. Anything that raises the temperature (metaphorically) increases the chances of having a seizure. These can include generally being sick, a high fever, electrolyte abnormalities, genetic propensity, and certain medications. Also medications can interfere with the metabolism of seizure medications and in some people the infection involves the brain, and can cause seizures. Some antibiotics (but not all) are known to lower the seizure threshold, and have a slight increase in the number of seizures, usually a few patients in every thousand treated. Justin Montanye, MD

Most people that have a seizure disorder have an "aura" proir to the seizure. This is different for everyone, can be a smell, or an odor, or flashing lights, but it is a warning sign that a seizure is about to happen. Assuming she has had hear ears and nose checked by a doctor and there is no problem this could be the situation. Also, if she has not had a CAT Scan or MRI of her brain to look for problems this should be done to be thorough.

A Grand Mal seizure is the most serious kind. Some people would get very serious ones. These would involve people losing consciousness, falling and serious shaking of the body and possibly people getting physically sick. There is the potential to be physically injured while having a Grand Mal seizure, through pulling muscles or hitting into something. If someone has one in a dangerous location, like if they were climbing, they could seriously injure themselves.
