I think it's because a lot of people consider them to be like a window to another universe, where you can just run away from life and live a new one. Other people just like them because they are fun.

∙ 12y agoBecause they have no social life and don't Kno how to get out and have some real fun. Playing Video Games every once in a while is fine but if your talking about the ones that scream at their tv and think it will help them then yea they have no social life.

∙ 13y agoBecause boys enjoy having a recreational time when they can just sit back and compete with there Friends and the online community. Because girls own the social network at school, video games( for some people ) offer an alternative social network. Being able to socialise through gaming skills rather than face to face social skills is a big thing for most boys. To your surprise most really athletic and popular boys at your school may in fact be dedicated gamers.

∙ 14y agoThat depends entirely on the person in question. Some people play for escapism, some people play for the opportunity to do things they would never be able to do in real life. It's almost impossible to narrow down why people play video games to just one reason.

yes No, because video games are not like real life and as long as you don't apply what you learn in video games to real life the fighting doesn't really matter and therefore, fighting doesn't matter in video games. No, It is only drawing moving around a screen. If that's what people (like me, lol) like in there video games then they should make games like that( but they do somtimes put in to much swearing and pointless sex/ nudity!)!!!!!!!

Video games have no real effect on the ability of someone to get a job. When video games are played too much it might distract someone from something important like school, but video games could also provide a nice distraction for people and actually improve their ability to function. It is completely subjective.

Making video games is not easy or cheap. You have graphics, coding, hardware costs... and multiply that by 1000000 or so. Video games cost money because of this.
